We’re attending our usual round of spring auditions and tech interviews, all held virtually this year.

First, we were part of UPTA(United Professional Theatre Auditions) and watched lots of auditions and considered hundreds of actor and tech resumes. We sure missed our trip to Memphis this year, but it was great to see so many faces, familiar and new, participating in the 2021 virtual UPTAs.

Next, we attended the A1 Auditions for the first time. Though not the same experience as when we’re all in the same room together, it was heartening to watch the auditions live and see so much creativity and talent.

Throughout the year, we welcome submissions from AEA and non-union actors with professional work experience, including actors within Moore County or daily commuting distance of Pinehurst, NC or actors who have local housing in the area. Please note that at this time our programming has consisted of (non-musical) plays; at this time, there is no need to send singing and dancing clips. Monologues from classic comedies, dramas, and suspense plays are appropriate; for appointment auditions, we nearly always provide sides to read from a show we’re casting.

Similarly, we’re always happy to hear from stage managers, technical directors who can build, wardrobe supervisors, company managers, office assistants with theatre marketing/press/graphic design/video editing/social media knowledge, and other theatre personnel. All tech positions at JTC are “hands on.”

As of this writing (3/15/2021) the date when we’ll resume our live on stage programming has not been announced. Send resumes and letter of interest to JudsonTheatre at gmail dot com.
